Mission1Race Websites Privacy Policy

Mission1Race websites have forms for donors and visitors to give donations, register for events and request information, products and services. We use Personal Information from these forms to provide acknowledgements, products, services, promotional materials or memberships that you request.

 

Forms on Mission1Race websites that request financial information, such as payment information, billing information and other information necessary, do so to process donations and memberships, event registrations and other purchased products and services.

Mission1Race Websites collects the following Personal Information about site visitors:

 

Site Use Information

  • Mission1Race collects technical information relating to each time a visitor comes to a Mission1Race website, including IP address, browser type and version, time zone settings, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform type.

  • We also may collect information about your visit, including pages you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information and methods used to browse away from the page.

  • Gathering this information helps us to learn what browsers we need to support and helps us determine what sections of Mission1Race Websites are most popular and how many visitors come to our site(s). Such information is only required if you decide to donate or take advantage of additional products and services provided through Mission1Race Websites.

Mission1Race collects Personal Information in the following ways from different parts of the Mission1Race Websites:

  1. Donations: You are sharing Personal Information when you donate to our organization through Mission1Race Websites. See our Donor Privacy Policy for additional disclosures.

  2. Event Registrations: When registering for our events, you are sharing your Personal Information.

  3. Volunteer Registrations: When volunteering for our events, you are sharing your Personal Information.

  4. Other Registrations: When registering for specific services we may ask for the same type of Personal Information. For example, if you subscribe to an email newsletter, we will ask you to provide your email address.

  5. Online Purchases: When you make a purchase through the Mission1Race Websites or Mission1Race Store, we may also ask for the same type of Personal Information.

  6. Mission1Race Partner Programs: When you sign up to learn more about our partnership and leadership programs, we may collect your Personal Information as well as Personal Information from anyone from your organization who decides to participate in the program. We may ask for additional Personal Information from our partners to process any donations raised in agreement with a Partnership Agreement.

  7. Referral Programs. Mission1Race may offer feature, which allow you to inform an individual about our organization. If you choose to use our referral features, we will ask you for your referral’s email address to send them an electronic communication inviting them to participate in our organization. We will store this information for the sole purpose of sending this email communication and tracking the success of these efforts to expand the reach of our work. If you choose to participate in our referral programs, you represent and warrant that you have a relationship with your referral and that you are authorized to share their information with Mission1Race for the purpose of sending this invitation to them.

 

2. How do we use the information we collect?

 

We use your Personal Information in accordance to the terms of this Privacy Policy in effect at the time of our use. We will only process your Personal Information where (1) you have provided your consent, which can be withdrawn at any time and (2) the  processing is necessary for the performance of services or agreement to which you are a party (includes our Mission1Race Partner Programs).

  • to process any donations, registrations, services and any other agreement entered into between you and Mission1Race, or in the case of Mission1Race Partner Programs, between your organization and Mission1Race

  • to arrange and deliver information, curriculum, events and programming relevant to your requests and interests in regards to Mission1Race

  • to respond to your questions and provide related donor, registrant or other customer services

  • to improve the Mission1Race Websites

  • to send you Mission1Race publications, information about donor benefits, special offers and other information that Mission1Race believes is relevant and useful to its donors and visits, where you have not opted out of receiving such information

  • to send you third party information that Mission1Race believes is relevant and useful to you, where you have given your consent

  • to notify you about changes to our programs, events or other related services or to ask you to provide feedback

  • to enable you to partake in raffles, competitions or complete a survey

  • to administer and protect our organization and websites (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data)

  • for those who apply for employment with Mission1Race, to process your employment application, including background checks and education/employment verification, as applicable

  • to comply with all applicable laws or legal processes, including providing information on individual users to the appropriate governmental authorities where required by law enforcement or judicial authorities 

  • in situations involving a danger to personal or public safety, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Mission1Race, our donors, constituents, members, visitors or others, Mission1Race may voluntarily provide information to appropriate government authorities​

2. Site Use Information

As mentioned above, Mission1Race uses the aggregate, anonymous data collected to let our sponsors and sometimes partners know the number of impressions or views and the number of “click throughs” on areas related to their sponsorship or partnership.

 

Mission1Race also uses this aggregate, anonymous data to perform statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of visitors to Mission1Race Websites. This helps us measure user interests regarding specific areas of Mission1Race websites and to analyze how and where best to use our resources. Without such data, we would not know which parts of Mission1Race Websites are the most popular, and we would not be able to change and update content and service appropriately.

 

Social Networks – if you connect with us on social media (we may access your public social media profile information. You can always limit this sharing using your social media service settings.

We do not sell, “rent,” share or exchange our donors’ or visitors’ Personal Information with any other entity. However, to most efficiently use the resources you entrusted to us, we may disclose to select third parties, information regarding donation history and location data. We do this to identify others like yourself interested in partnering with us to help with the mission. This information disclosure is done carefully to ensure that your personal information is protected.

 

 

4. Our Donor Privacy Policy

 

We respect your privacy and value your trust in being a donor of Mission1Race. As a donor submitting Personal Information to Mission1Race Websites or any of our staff, you consent to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy and to our processing and use of Personal Information for the purposes stated below

  1. Transactions for donations, registrations or other paid products and services: When you provide Personal Information about you to complete a transaction, we will share such Personal Information necessary to complete the transaction requested by you.

    • There may be times when we ask for additional personally identifiable information to complete any services requested by you.

  2. Peer to Peer Fundraising: If you choose to fundraise on Mission1Race.org, your fundraising campaign will be public once published on Mission1Race Websites. The published campaign will provide other donors and visitors with information related to the event/experience which will include Personal Information, such as your name, your fundraising reason and the amount of funds needed to reach your goal.

    • In the event that you raise funds for another organization, we may ask you to provide additional Personal Information in order to process donations for that organization.

 

In some cases, our site uses securely, encrypted contribution response forms for visitors who choose to use these forms to provide information, request information, make donations, purchase products and register for events or other services. We collect your willingly submitted contact information and financial information. Contact information from these response forms is used to process transactions as well as provide receipts and other information about Mission1Race to our constituents. Your contact information may also be used to get in touch with you if necessary, in order to resolve customer service issues or questions. You may opt-out of receiving future communications. Financial information that is collected is used to bill you for donations pledged, products/services purchases and events registered.

 

5. What is the modification/opt-out policy for Mission1Race Websites?

 

Mission1Race provides donors and visitors with the opportunity to change and modify their Personal Information as well as opt-out of receiving communications from us and our partners. If you would like to modify your Personal Information or wish to no longer receive specific communications or services, you have the following options:

Our site may also contain links to other sites not under Mission1Race websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

 

 

6. What are “cookies” and how does Mission1Race use them and any other tracking technologies?

A cookie is a small data file stored on your computer that contains a unique identification feature that allows your computer to recognize you when you return to a Mission1Race website. The use of cookies is an industry standard and cookie are currently used on most major websites. You can always set your browser to refuse cookies. To help serve you better, Mission1Race generally uses cookies to:

  2. Gather general demographic information about what countries and domains our users come from and their behavior on our sites

In addition to “cookies”, Mission1Race websites are enabled with one or more add-on services, such as Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use our sites. Google Analytics collects information such as how often visitors come to our site, what pages they visit and sometimes what other sites they used prior to coming to our website. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit. We do not cross-reference information obtained from Google Analytics with other personally identifiable information. 

 

Google Analytics does store a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit our site; the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to our site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies.

 

Mission1Race online surveys may ask visitors for Personal Information as well as a variety of demographic and practical questions. Mission1Race may use contact data from surveys to send you information about Mission1Race. The user’s contact information may also be used to contact the visitor when necessary; you may opt-out of receiving future communications.

 

7. Your California privacy rights

For California Residents Only. The CCPA is not intended to apply to nonprofits, however it could have application in some circumstances. Mission1Race’s changes to its privacy policy, which accommodates CCPA, are done voluntarily and are exclusively an accommodation to our supporters in California.

 

  • Right to Know. You have the right to know what Personal Information is collected, where it was acquired, what the information is used for, whether it is being shared with third parties and to who it is shared with.

  • Right to Opt-Out. You have the right to opt-out of having your information transferred.

  • Right to Control and Be Forgotten. You may have the right to request the deletion of your Personal Information, however such Personal Information may need not be deleted to comply with legal obligations or applicable tax laws (e.g. holding evidence of tax-deductible donations)

9. What types of security procedures and online data security exist to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of  your information?

Mission1Race Websites have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your Personal Information under our control. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to data will not occur; we take reasonable precautions to prevent such unfortunate occurrences. All response forms requesting confidential information (such as credit card numbers) utilize the Internet security protocol known as “Secure Sockets Layer” or “SSL”. This is a certification and encryption technology designed to make using your credit card as safe as possible on the Internet.

 

You are ultimately responsible for the security of your Mission1Race login credentials. You may not share your Mission1Race login credentials with colleagues or friends so they can access content or features that are restricted to our Partner programs or members only. Please use caution and log out of your browser at the end of each session to ensure others cannot access your Personal Information, especially in public places.

 

 

10. How do Mission1Race Websites use communities?

 

Mission1Race Websites make communities available to its donors and supporters. Any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information, and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your Personal Information. Although users may post messages that will appear on the message boards anonymously, Mission1Race does retain a record of who posts all messages.
