Praying for Reconciliation

Updated: Mar 24

Oh Lord God, you created a wondrously diverse world of indescribable beauty.

Each intricate detail of our personhood displays your wonder.

Each so unique.

Each so inextricably part of the whole.

Each with a part to play.

Each containing the unspeakable glory of your indescribable image.

Therefore,

May I leave my gift at the altar of religion, and seek first relationship with your creation.

Through your mercy, peace is proclaimed.

Through your love, the mind is renewed.

Your body hung in the balance of sin and redemption,

To reconcile all,

To yourself,

To one another.

May kindness and compassion flow from my being.

May your holiness infect my DNA.

May peace flow to the world.

The body of Christ is made of many parts, each with a part to play, no part of a disposable substance. Because of the indescribable glory of the image of God in all, there is honor and personhood for each. Let us leave our gifts of religiosity, instead pursuing the gifts of relationship and love. In light of God’s mercy, let us offer a living sacrifice, set apart and pleasing to God, a true and perfect worship. May minds be renewed by his glorious wonders, his glorious purpose our main pursuit. He came to bring peace to all, reconciling all unto himself, and one to another. May our efforts be towards holiness and in that holiness, may there be peace towards all. May all know the glory of the Lord that surrounds and indwells. AMEN
